Seatrout are now in the River Almond Nr Edinburgh on the Cramond Angling Club water.
With the cold nights, seatrout are not yet showing, but a report is just in of a 2.5lb specimen, being caught near mid Calder, so they are definately there.
"The river is currently running at summer level and is as clear as I've ever seen it", Wan Indra of the Cramond Angling Club told ukflyfisher today.
"Hopefully the warmer weather will encourage people out to do a spot of nght time Seatrout fishing and returns will climb".
It is still recommended that any Seatrout caught in the River Almond are returned, and the estuary area of the fishery is not fished until the all clear from SEPA.
The actual impact on the environment from the recent sewage spillage in the Firth of Forth, still is not clear at the moment. Any information wil be passed on as soon as it is made available from SEPA.
The Cramond Angling Club controls around 3 miles of Salmon and Seatrout water on the River Almond and is arguably some of the most affordable fishing available for as little as £10:00p per day.
Good quality Salmon & Seatrout run the river straight in out of the Firth of Forth. The club water also extends about 1.5 miles out into the estuary around Cramond Island.
