What a change this week or to be precise from Wednesday onwards, fish moving everywhere to ever improving hatches of buzzer, at times the surface of the reservoir has been alive with fish feeding, although at times they were not easy to tempt, however 182 rods caught 751 trout returning 389 for a rod average of 4.1 Our surface temperature is 10 degrees
Bank anglers are still enjoying good sport especially when there's a breeze blowing along the bank; it brings the trout well within casting range. Boat & float tubers have caught all over the reservoir with a large amount of trout moving in front of the dam & across the stones.
A floating line with black buzzers size 12 - 14, small damsels, small green pea, dries small hoppers & a sparkle gnat have all taken fish.
A number of overwintered trout have been caught this week with the largest at 6lb taken by Paul Walker.
