Weekly results week ending - 13th March
106 anglers caught 364 fish rod average 3.4
Rod average down slightly on last week maybe due to a colder start to the week with strong winds at times. Best areas are black pipe and north west corner with fish being very close in, at times only 6 to 8 feet out. Best tactic has been to fish along a quiet bank on floating lines with a variety of weighted flies including buzzers, diawl bachs, corixa, cat's whiskers and montanas.
Best rainbow was a 6Ib 2oz fish taken by Lincoln angler Terry Taylor on a black buzzer.
Bit of a new video for you here, Tuesday visitors to Toft will know (or will have heard) the star!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNI_gU9E6cs
A bit of sad news - Angling legend and long time contributor to the Yorkshire Post, Bill Bartles has recently passed away, he was in his late seventies. Bill was a regular visitor to Toft from the mid eighties to the late nineties and in recent years reverted back to his love of coarse fishing. He was a larger than life character and I'm sure many of you will remember his 'energy' and enthusiasm for angling. I've attached a picture I took of Bill with a nice brownie from about 1992. I'd like to offer my condolences to his wife Brenda and family.
