Thornton Fishing Report Week ending 05/04/09
Another mixed weeks fishing for Thornton with 207 rods catching 350 trout returning 144 for a rod average 1.7
Our buzzer hatches are getting better with an increasing number of trout to be seen moving on the surface, however they proved difficult to tempt.
Wayne Lewin & Clive Holt both fished an afternoon session catching 6 apiece on buzzers with Wayne retuning a few days later to fish the morning session to catch 11 trout again on buzzers, with Clive fishing another evening session this time catching 10 on buzzers. M. Parrott fished an evening session from the bank by the lonesome pine to catch 6 again on buzzers while John Salisbury found a buzzer & olive hares ear worked best for his 6 fish.
Our water temperature is nearly 9 degrees in the past I have found that Thornton's buzzer fishing really gets going once we reach the magical 10 degree mark.
With Easter next weekend I am stocking a further 1500 trout to ensure we enjoy a good bank holidays fishing, boat booking during a bank holiday period can be heavy I suggest therefore you book a boat before you travel.
