Well the weather has cooled down a lot and we have had a first small frost this week at the lake so hopefully now the fish will wake up and come in on the banks and hit the fry. A fish have already been on the fry in the jetty but only a few. The rod average was 2 again this week with the fishing still proving to be hard work for some.
Dennis Haynes from Nottingham had a fine days fishing landing 10 fish up to 3lb, Dennis was fishing from a drifting boat with an intermediate line with a Damsel on the point and a minkie on the dropper. Den said the top drift was wright across the mouth of the Cavers Arm starting at Hut Point to end up on Heron Point. Phil Harding and boat partner Mr Margett also had no problems catching their limits but took them in style off the top using Dries. The pair fished on the same drift as Dennis did but showed they could be caught right off the top, A red CDC was the killer pattern and took all of the fish even a fully finned 6lb 3oz Rainbow.
The boats are catching the fish but not filling the boats as the rod average says, Best areas have been out in the middle of the Cavers Arm and around Buoys 2,3,4,5,6,9 and 10, There are fish starting to find the bays with Flamingo Bay holding quite a lot and also Sunblest Bay and Bramble.
Tight Lines and see you soon.
