Without doubt Autumn has arrived with a few misty, foggy colder mornings last week and with it a definite change to the fishing.
The trout are starting to move into the banks & along the weed beds with intermediate & sinking lines catching well with cats whiskers, small fry patterns & Montana. At the moment for the bank anglers the stones offer the best fishing but the wood bank will I'm sure start to fish for the bank angler during this coming week. Sedges, dries & nymphs are also taking trout during the warmer part of the day. If your coming to fish the bank be sure to bring waders.
During the week 266 rods caught 742 trout for a rod average 2.8 During Friday, Saturday & Sunday anglers from the Complete Fly Fishers Forum enjoyed a successful 3 day visit I'm sure reports of their time at Thornton will be on their web site at www.completefisher.com/forum/index.php
