A bit of a mixed bag during the last week, at times & especially during the afternoon & evening there were lots of trout to be seen feeding off the surface taking small black buzzers & tiny black beetles, despite the amount of trout top be seeing feeding they proved difficult to tempt.
As is always the case some anglers found a pattern they would take, Melvyn pepper fished twice during the week catching 8 on black buzzers for his day visit before returning to fish an evening session & taking a further 5, Peter Wurm & his son continue to catch during the evening session catching 5 on small dries, Clive Holt recorded 7 for his afternoon visit while Paddy Fitch caught 7. Bob Huggett caught 8 on dries while Norma & John Everett fished size 18 black buzzers for their catch of 9 trout. A grey wolf dry helped Martin Ackland to his 6 fish catch.
The corner of the main car park, green bay & stone provided the best of the sport with boats anchored doing better than the boats on the drift for some strange reason.
The weather forecast for the coming week looks favorable for the trout fishing, although some rain is forecast it should remain overcast & cool ideal as we look forward to the good sport autumn is sure to bring.
