Finally the fishing is holding it's own with another good week at foremark with the rod average of 3.5 and fish up to 11lb 12oz coming out.
The fishing has been great this week with anglers catching on a variety of methods from Dries to lures on intermediate but they key has been the depth with the top 4ft holding the majority of the feeding fish.
Andy Taylor showed the way this week with a cracking days sport on a floating line and Nymphs. Andy was fishing from a drifting boat and using small Diawl Bachs, PTN and Black Buzzers to tempt 17 fish to the boat, Andy was covering fish all day long and couldn't believe how many fish were in the lake. It was about time the lake produced a big fish and boy did it this week regular angler Ray Ellis from Derby caught one of the best fish i have seen for a long time the fully finned rainbow took Ray 3o minutes to land and tipped the scales to 11lb 12ozs what a fish!!!
Ray who was fishing over the boils caught the fish on a small Black and Green lure on a Floating line, when he hooked the fish he knew straight away it was a good fish as it sounded towards the bottom and he couldn't believe his eyes when he landed his biggest ever Rainbow trout well done Ray.
Bank fishing is slowly picking up with Mike Smith from Burton taking 6 fish of Verdun's point this week on the dries, top areas from the bank have been form the lodge round to Hut Point.
Now hopefully the fishing will be consistent with the weather cooling down and soon the fish will be back in the bays on the fry.
