Well finally a break in the weather and that was enough to clear the water of the green algae and bring the trout right back on the feed.

The rod average for the week was a steady 3.2 which for the time of year is great.

850 fish went in this week with 300 browns being introduced up to the 3lb mark to try and keep a good head of browns for the future.

Top sport has been had off the boils this week with Gary Owen from Coalville taking 26 fish on Dries.  Gary fished 3 Harry Potter Dries on a 18ft leader off the boat to tempt this great bag of fish, Gary had a mixed bag of recent stockies and some really good residents.  James Britten and his boat partner had a good day from the boat as well but James headed over on the Ticknall bank and took his fish on a Intermediate Line with a Cat Boobie on the point, blob on the top and a nymph in the  middle, and you know when you have the right cast on as you will take fish on all 3 flies which James did;  The pair finished the day with 19 fish to the boat great angling lads well done.

Top areas from the boats have been around the Sailing club to the Cage with the odd fish finding Flamingo Bay again, The Boils are holding so many fish its untrue and over on the Cascade to the Dam Wall you will also see a lot of fish.

Dries have been the best method this week with a lot of fish free rising but they are not as easy as they look so lighter nylon will catch you more fish.  Its also well worth a go on the sinking lines and the lure but fish them in the top 3ft of water when the cloud is out.

Now hopefully the weather will stay steady and the fishing will only get better with some of the best dry fly fishing you will see anywhere!!  and then the fry!! things are really looking up so hope to see you soon tight lines Phil Dixon.
