Foremark w/e 05/08/08

The weather has turned fishing around this week at Foremark with anglers struggling to catch their bags with a rod average of .  The lake had a lot of algae in this week with the warm weather but as the cooler weather comes in with the rain the lake has started to clear with the odd angler taking his limit.

Boat fishing has been the best with Phil Pinder catching 7 rainbows with the best a fine fully finned 3lb 8oz.  Phil took his fish from a drifting boat picking up fish near the top fishing a floating line with Hoppers and PTN Nymphs.

Top of the water methods have been taking the majority of the fish from Dries wets on a slow sinker.  The bank lads are finding the fishing really hard with the trout feeding just a bit further out, if you wanted to fish the banks then later in the day through to the evening is your best chance.

Top areas have been around the Cage and Sailing Club, The Boils and along the Dam Wall to the Cascade.

Hopefully now with the weather cooling down the lake will cool down and the fish will really start to feed again.

Tight Lines
Phil Dixon.
