News Update July 2008
The Kyle of Sutherland Angling Association has enjoyed a good start to the season. For those of you that fished the Kyle last year will know that the season was abysmal for us. There was so much water the fish were able to run straight through to our feeder rivers, the Carron, Shin, Cassley and Oykel, all of whom enjoyed outstanding seasons, and all that we could do was watch the fish go by. The only good thing to come from last season was the fact that the Sea Trout catch was up on the year before, with a good head of fish with plenty in the 3 – 4lb range.
This season started with 47 fish being taken the first week, several of these in the 16 lb bracket, and last week produced 2 Grilse, the first of many we hope. The Sea Trout are also starting to appear with the heaviest so far being 3.5lb. The season so far augers well, we will do our bit let’s hope the fish do theirs. Our catch is updated daily check it out on our website www.kosaa.co.uk.
