Trout threw caution to the wind at Witton Lakes as South Westerly gales bring down tree's, and whipping the lakes into 2ft waves breaking over the northern banks. These storms re-oxeginated the already clear water on all lakes, and freshened them up even further. Unbelievable when anglers came off to put in their catch returns these fish had been taking and chasing daddies and suspender olive buzzers twitched across the top. The next day conditions change to bright, sunny and warm with fish moving mid morning and late afternoons, no wonder we are apprehensive about climate change in our country.

Northumbrian AC anglers had a good day out with Mr Ken Wood from Hadston securing a nice fish at 12lbs 2ozs on a black and silver buzzer. MrTerry Ross from Willington took a nice bag at 6lb, and a further two 2lbder's along with Mr Brian Conway from Crook fish of 5lbs 8ozs, 3lb and a absolutely mint 3lb 4oz blue trout.
Sporting Permit anglers settling into nice sport with averages at 3 fish/visit. Mr G Oliver from Newton Hall returning 12 fish one of which was a nice double.
Two anglers Mr P Zajaac and Mr J Mc Guigan returned between them 25 fish on various fly patterns.
Flies for the week damsels, olive suspender buzzers, yellow daddies, crunchers, PTN, CDC flat wing olives.
Thankyou
