A great start to the week, but then the snow arrived, followed by heavy rain over the weekend resulting in poor fishing conditions.

For the week 54 rods caught 183 trout returning 113 for rod average 3.4, again the majority of the catches came off the shallows opposite the lodge & in front of the wood. The most productive time to fish has been 10.30am – 3.00pm the warmest part of the day.

Yellow, orange or pink blobs, white & green or black & green tadpoles & booby patterns caught the majority of the fish, but please remember NO BOOBIES to be used if your catch & releasing.

The bank continues to fish well, but remember you need your waders to fish the bank successfully at Thornton.
