Been a mixed week again in unsettled weather. Bright, blustery days have slowed bank sport with boats having the real advantage. Deep fished buzzers and caddis patterns successful during the middle of the day fished from anchored boats or on the bank around the deeper north west corner area. Plenty of fish moving when cloud cover appears and small parachute dries have been good in an afternoon. Best time is definitely evenings and now we're in to the longest days, there's plenty of time to take advantage of Tofts excellent evening rise. Lots of sedges coming off, silver invicta, soldier palmer, dry G&H and elk hair patterns all good. Try a foamy Shipman's if all else fails !! Toft regulars and local celebrities Bob and Merv from Newark caught 30+ fish between them on Thursday to 4Ib 8oz, they fished from a boat and took the majority on olive Shipman's buzzers. Best rainbow was 5Ib 5oz to Mr. Green on a sedge pupae.
