Ranger's Review:
Boat fishing has been patchy this week, but most anglers have caught fish. Best methods
have been using sinking lines with imitation fry patterns, Black and Green Tadpoles or
Orange Boobies. Intermediate lines with Bloodworm on the point have also been effective. Bank
fishing has again been most productive along the Natural Bank, most fish having been caught at
Hall Point, and outside the Fishing Lodge. A few anglers have managed their 8 fish catch limits
this week particularly those who have been wading.
Our season ends on Friday 30th Nov, and we would like to thank all anglers for their
custom this season, and hope to see you all again next year.

Ranger's review:
The trout at Scaling Dam have continued to feed throughout the last week and despite a mid-week
drop in temperatures coupled with strong winds, anglers who dressed appropriately have enjoyed
some fine rod bending action. Bait anglers caught most of their fish from both ends of the Dam Wall.
Middlesbrough bait angler Paul Jackson had a memorable end to his season, fishing the East end of
the Dam Wall he tempted a fine 9lbs 5oz rainbow with a maggot. Paul went on to take a further four
fish in a lively session.
Fly anglers have also had a good share of the action. The very productive East End Bay, again the
top location. Skelton fly angler Les Wheatley had an exciting day on Wednesday, taking a total of
seven fish, including a cracking 5lb rainbow. A weighted Dawson's Olive was his successful pattern.
With one week of the season remaining and Scaling still holding a good head of fish, given
reasonable weather anglers should have a good final week.
Best catch: Rainbow of 9lbs 5oz.
Best flies: Dawson's Olive.
Best baits: Worm/Powerbait.
Best areas: Both ends of the Dam Wall.
