"Dentist Extracts a Beauty" |

| Dental student, Michael Austen was certainly not "down in the mouth" when he took a break from |
|
| his studies and "extracted" the best blue of the season!! The beautifully conditioned 8lb 4oz fish |
|
| was taken on float fished Powerbait and worm from the West Pasture area. |
|
|
|
| Michael was only using a 4lb trace but after an epic battle lasting more than 30 minutes he safely |
|
| netted the fish, proving patience is a virtue. This is a lesson many anglers could learn from and |
|
| which could see one of the double figure fish still at large finally landed instead of the usual tales of |
|
| woe as lines are broken. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Mid-week saw large numbers of Heather Fly blown across the water and the fish responded with |
|
| enthusiasm, rising freely to this annual bonanza. Anglers using Bibios or Black Hoppers had |
|
| tremendous sport targeting rising fish. On calmer evenings large numbers of Black Buzzers have |
|
| been seen around the water's edge. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Grassholme has fished extremely well with 43 limit catches taken from all around the fishery, with |
|
| most anglers bringing 3lb+ fish to the net. |
|
|
|
