Rutland Water
fish for week 480(25804) returns 261 (7874)
Best fish of the week fell to Glaston season ticket holder Robert Erskine who netted a 5lb 10oz rainbow whilst bank fishing. The best brown was estimated at 4lb plus and went to another season ticket holde,r Matt Gregory.
Boat anglers fishing out the back of the boat on the rudder had the best sport in general, but loch style drifting boats also caught fish with the boat league fishing the most settled evening of the season so far, with 13 anglers taking 46 fish. Richard Cooper and Keith Jones had eight fish limits in less than three hours in last week’s match.
Season ticket holders Mick Loy, Chris Evans and Malcolm March also had plenty of boat sport at the weekend fishing sinking lines with various coloured lures for the daphnia feeding fish.
Bank fishing has been difficult with winds staying in the west colouring up the shoreline leaving only a few sheltered areas to fish on the peninsular. The weather forecast for the coming week for lighter winds and sunny days should improve prospects considerably.

Grafham Water
fish for week 609 (14364) returns 216 (3934) rod average2.88 (3.69)
The biggest fish of the week was caught by local angler John Sears of Little Gransden. This superb brown of 7lb 11oz was taken whilst boat fishing in Sanctuary Bay. John caught his biggest Grafham trout on a Rutland Rat on a wet cel 2 line fished slowly. The best rainbow was taken by Dr Spiro of London who took a 5lb 8oz specimen from a boat at G buoy on a floating line with a black buzzer.
Grafham Water has continued to fish well with the boat anglers reporting trout being caught in the top two feet of water. The main hotspot areas for boat anglers have been G,K,B and I buoys with the central area of the reservoir and also the dam producing very good catch rates for anglers. Floating intermediate, sink tip and Di3 lines with boobies, orange blobs, diawl bachs, crunchers and minkies are catching the majority of trout. However, some anglers have had some excellent sport on dries fishing the central drifts in the mornings. Bank anglers have had a challenging week with the Seat and Sludge bank being the only places where trout have been caught. However, those trout caught have been of superb quality and generally between 3-5lb.
