fish for part week 99 (Season440) returns 31 (104) rod average 3.19 (4.23)
Alan Gough from Buckden took not only the best fish of the week, but also the best of the season to date. This excellent over wintered rainbow weighed 4lb 2oz and was taken on a floating line with a small black sparkler from G Buoy. Quite an achievement as Alan was on a Beginners Course! These courses offer a full day’s tuition with a qualified instructor, all for £49, and the chance to catch the best fish of the week! Course dates at Grafham, Rutland and Pitsford are published under forthcoming events in Fishery News and on our website www.anglianwaterleisure.co.uk
The recent changeable weather has made for challenging fishing. However, the anglers who braved the elements did very well, considering the awful conditions. The best bank fishing has been the north shore from Hill Farm, all the way along to the north end of the dam, with G buoy producing the best results with floating lines and black lures.
Boat anglers have also had a lot of success along the North shore and also the south end of the dam, mainly on hi d lines with cats whisker or coral boobies.
