Hilary was using a floating line and a Hare’s Ear Nymph. Two browns, both estimated well into double figures, were returned safely to the water.
The first by Phil Harding from Derbyshire, boat fishing in the Main Basin, returned a fish estimated at 12lb.
The second by bank angler Mike Sheldrake from Hertfordshire, returning a good 10lb plus brown (witnessed by Senior Warden John Seaton). Fish are still feeding hard on this season’s roach/bream fry.
