The Spring Flyfishing Show (SFS) is now in it’s second year and is now seen as the show that launches the new flyfishing season on the 3rd & 4th of March at Newark. Many manufactures including Snowbee, Hardy, Nomad, Emur – Finland,Craig Barr, Ian Barr, Grip Hooks, Greys, Phoenix Classics – France, Topfly – Poland and many more. These manufacturers are launching new flyfishing products at the show including famous rod brands such as Hardy Marksman and Zane saltwater fly rods as well as new fly rods from Thomas &Thomas, Scott, Redington, Vision and more. As well as new fly rods, there are new fly reels, flyfishing luggage, fly lines, flytying products and some amazing new hooks, all being launched at the show.

Come and meet the stars of fly fishing, Charles Rangeley-Wilson from the BBC hit series, The Accidental Angler, Charles Jardine, John Bailey, Hywel Morgan, Chris Sandford, and more. Come along and have a chat with these guys, watch the latest demonstrations and even buy signed copies of their books.

We have an exciting 2-day program of events in our 3 theatres, including Close up flytying demonstrations, Talks, Discussions, Slide Shows, New techniques and more. These are given by some of the best in the business. This year we have added another jumbo indoor casting lake. This is a “try before you buy” lake for you to use. The show is also hosting the 1st round of The UK Fly Casting Championships. Casting lake one will hold a full 2-day program of casting demonstrations by some of the countries top-casting demonstrators. Also GAIA instructors are at the show if you would like to book a casting lesson. On the fly tying front, a new addition this year is “Tie with your Mentor” these are one-on-one flytying classes by well know tyers who will be teaching all types of tying techniques for all ages and skill levels. Another new addition to the show is our Authors Booth. Where Charles Rangeley-Wilson from the BBC Accidental Angler series, John Bailey, Charles Jardine, Paul Whillock, Guiseppe Re, Steve Thornton, Philip White and other eminent flyfishing and flytying authors will be signing and selling books.

The SFS are hosting The British & International Flytying Championships. This is proving very successful with entries arriving from all over the world. We have donated a special display area at the show so visitors can see them.  This competition carries some great awards, which will be presented on the Sunday afternoon. If you have not entered your pattern there’s still time as the closing date is not until 12th of February, Entry form and rules can be printed from the website.

There is just so much happening over this 2-day show that I simply cannot list everything. All the information and news is on the website, which is updated daily as more news arrives. Have a look at the website www.thespringflyfishingshow.com and see just how much the show has to offer you.

We look forward to seeing you at this 2 day fly fishing extravaganza.
