Hardy & Greys Ltd Support Ladies in Fishing

Hardy & Greys Ltd are supporting a brand new Ladies Only Fishing Club based in the North East of England. The fishing club, run by Lucy Bowden, 21, founder of www.fishingforeveryone.com and Public Relations Coordinator at Hardy & Greys Ltd has been set up to encourage and promote more ladies into angling and has so far attracted over forty female anglers.

The only Ladies Club of its kind in the North of England, the first club event, held at Chatton Trout Fishery took place in April and saw twenty girls, mostly novices aged between 11 and 65 travelling from as far away as Essex take to the water. With prizes generously donated by Hardy & Greys Ltd and tuition and equipment hire from the Environment Agency the day got off to a flying start. 12 year old Jessica Williams who attended the event said; "The day was fantastic! Planned to perfection and every lady went home with the confidence that they could go fly fishing alone - or even with one of the new friends they had made! It was fun to meet other women who were interested in fishing and Hardy & Greys Ltd were very generous in their support. " Hardy & Greys Ltd Managing Director, Richard Sanderson said; “This is a really fantastic initiative for the sport. Clearly we need to attract more females into the sport and programs like this are key in helping people understand angling and for them to experience all the benefits both from the countryside and overall participation in fishing generally.”

Lucy plans to hold monthly FFE Ladies Club meeting at different venues throughout the North East and encourage more ladies to come along- "I would like to see more girls take to the water and It would be great if they would come along and try it!"
