STORMY WEATHER HAMPERS RIVER HELMSDALE OPENING DAY
STORMY WEATHER HAMPERS RIVER HELMSDALE OPENING DAY

Over 140 people turned out for the opening day of the River Helmsdale. Stormy weather saw many anglers finish early, however some hardy souls lasted until last light in search of that first fresh fish of the season. Unfortunately for those who braved the weather, the fish were the winners on the day. Apart from a couple of caught, then returned Kelts, most anglers went home empty handed, although an enjoyable day was had all round.

Ronald from the Helmsdale tackle shop told UK flyfisher " It is all up for grabs tomorrow, maybe someone will catch one then ".

To find out who catches the first bar of silver of the season from the River Helmsdale, and takes first prize of a free season ticket, and other prizes, keep checking your UK Flyfisher's news column, because the minute we know, so will you.

UK Flyfisher - The way forward.
