RIVER HELMSDALE OPENING DAY- FREE FISHING !
RIVER HELMSDALE OPENING DAY- FREE FISHING !

The opening day of the River Helmsdale is here again. The general public can fish FREE from Thursday 11th January to Saturday 13th. This includes the first 9 miles of river to the kildoan Falls - Fly Only.

Simply register at the River Helmsdale tackle shop, and try your luck. The first person to catch a spring salmon, will win a season ticket to fish the River Helmsdale, a bottle of Glenmorangie, the Crystal Bridge Hotel trophy, and a choice of a dozen flies from the shop.

Ronald went on to say to UK flyfishers Craig Barr " Last season there were 6 springers caught in the first ten days. At the moment the water is currently sitting at 1'3" on the gage. The water is crystal clear, with a perfect height too, im sure someone will catch a fish."

To find out if anybody does catch a  springer, be sure to check out UK Flyfisher tomorrow ! Also read the River Helmsdale river report here on Uk Flyfisher EVERY WEEK !.
