Important news from Northumbrian water
Important news from Northumbrian water
Kielder Water.
Now closed for fishing for the rest of this season with immediate effect.
The planned draw down of Kielder Water to allow the required inspection of
Bakethin Dam to take place is now nearing its conclusion, after a recent
safety inspection low water levels have exposed dangerous areas of mud.
With immediate effect on safety grounds we have taken the precautionary
decision to close the reservoir to both boat and bank anglers for the
remainder of this season. We look forward to welcoming back all of our
customers again next March as usual for the start of the new season.
Anglers will still be able to enjoy some fine late sport as Derwent,
Grassholme, Blackton and Scaling Dam will remain open until the end of
November.
Fontburn Reservoir
Now closed for fishing for the rest of this season with immediate effect.
Following on from last weeks early warning regarding limited bank space
many Fontburn anglers have taken our advice and enjoyed fishing at Derwent
reservoir. After a recent safety inspection and due to large areas of
exposed mud on safety grounds we have taken the precautionary decision to
close the reservoir for the remainder of the season. We look forward to
welcoming back all of our customers again next March as usual for the start
of the new season.
Anglers will still be able to enjoy some fine late sport as Derwent,
Grassholme, Blackton and Scaling Dam will remain open until the end of
November.
