FRANK, QUITE FRANKLY IS THE BEST OVER THE 2-LEGS
FRANK, QUITE FRANKLY IS THE BEST OVER THE 2-LEGS

Conditions were excellent for the fishing on sunday 10th June. Overcast, light Northerly winds, and humid, not to mention rising fish!

Church Bay was the hot spot. Rumour spread fast that quick bags were taken there on practice day, fishing nymphs on floating lines.

Mark Haycock, partnered with UK Flyfishers Craig Barr, hooked into a 3lb+ fish on his first cast, for it to shake the hook seconds later. Marks team mate Graham Pearson had the luck of the gods on his side, unlike Mark, as he roared into a seven fish bag within the first hour, only to take a further three hours to get his last fish !

Peterborough based angler Keith Jones took the first bag limit of the day, finishing at 12 noon. Keith fished off Hedge End using a DI-3 line and two orange blobs.

The fish soon became aware and the catch rate took a big dive, as boats started to spread around the lake. ACA'S Ron Gent went to H buoy in search of bigger fish, reported to be there the day before. He returned two hours later with having had five takes and no fish !

Craig Barr took four fish in quick succession off Hedge End to complete his bag limit by 2pm. Craig was using a UV Cruncher on the point with three of his Diawal Bach patterns on the droppers.

Frank Sumnall( You may know him as NUFFIN !!) took the best bag of the day, eight fish for 24lb 3oz. Frank found fish off Deepwater Point and Pylon Point. Iain Barr and partner Colin Bradley arrived late at the same spot, 5.20pm, only to bag seven fish between them in fifteen minutes!!  Both were pulling blobs on a DI-5.
