Tipped Off On Rutland !!

With the milder temperatures set to continue into the weekend, the opening day at Rutland Water promises to be a good one, with a pre-season stocking of 20,000 fish.

The first beginners day got off to a flying start with 18 rainbows successfully landed and returned. A secret location UK flyfisher was told !!

The milder winter has also meant the planned stock fish have piled on the wait. "The fish have been fed throughout the winter as it has been so mild. During cold winters the fish are not fed so often. The fresh stock fish, have lets say, been slightly bigger than expected". An Anglian Water warden told UK flyfisher.

The fish have been released all around the 3300 acre reservoir. Areas worth trying are, the Transformer, Armley Wood, Barnsdale, Sykes Lane, The Normanton Shore, The sailing Club, Gibbets Gourse and the Old Hall Flats.
