Suspected Snizort Springer Is it a late run Grilse or is it a Springer , only scale samples passed onto the lab will tell. Fact is that sport on the Snizort, Skye's premier Salmon river is coming earlier than expected. As the season started in February, Derek Dowsett of Three Esses Fly fishing is thrilled that local rods are catching fish,. They are amazed at how strong the fish are, if they are well mended kelts they are very fit. Derek is of the opinion that weather is key to the condition of the fish, "they really don't know what is happening, running in and out of the river several times", but local anglers are having great sport, finnock to around a pound showing to many rods, with 12 well mended Kelts to date, fresh fish amongst them. So as Derek says , "the season could be stretched to give sport to the early rods, they just need to be out there to experience it, if your fly ain' t in the water, you ain't gonna catch".As you read this the river is in fine spate condition and more fish will be entering the system, for fishing on the snizort contact Derek on 01470 532297. | Posted on Saturday, March 10, 2007 (Archive on Saturday, March 17, 2007) Posted by bailiff Contributed by bailiff
